Polo Club Landsberg
This season, the Polo Club Landsberg, located in Bavaria, Germany, is under the direction of the Argentinian-based organization La Pava Grande, led by Cirilo Allende, Segundo Copello, and Agustín Guevara. Known for its mix of Gaucho spirit and German tradition, the club is opening its gates in 2025 with new leadership, fresh ideas, and a deep dedication to spreading the passion for polo.
We asked them 15 questions – here are their answers:
1. Who is leading Polo Club Landsberg this season?
The Polo Club Landsberg this season is managed by the La Pava Grande Organization, formed by Cirilo Allende, Segundo Copello, and Agustín Guevara.
2. How did this leadership come about?
We knew that those who had previously managed the club were stepping down, so after talking among the three of us and dreaming of bringing La Pava Grande to Germany – an organization we lead with our horses in Argentina – we decided to take on the club together.
3. What are the club's main goals for the 2025 season?
For 2025, we aim to build a strong community around polo. We want people from the region to return and choose Polo Club Landsberg. To achieve that, we’re offering group and individual lessons for all ages, and organizing a calendar with weekly and seasonal tournaments.
4. What tournaments are scheduled for this year?
We don’t have exact dates yet, but we’re aiming to organize one or two tournaments this season.
5. Will there be international teams or guests?
Definitely. At Polo Club Landsberg, our doors are open to people from all countries and cultures.
6. What's new or changing at the club?
This will be the first time Polo Club Landsberg will be run by a group of young Argentinians. We’re bringing a new dynamic view of the sport and its activities.
7. Are there collaborations with other clubs or brands?
Our interest is to work with all European clubs if possible. We don’t believe Polo can reach success by being isolated, and we’re looking for partnerships that reflect our values.
8. How many active members are currently at the club?
Currently, the club has around 10 members.
9. What are the biggest challenges the club is currently facing?
Given the club’s lower activity in recent years, one major challenge is improving the facilities.
10. What’s the club’s main focus audience?
Our club is primarily focused on youth and beginners, as they are the future of our sport.
11. What’s been your most fun experience on the field?
The most fun experience is always sharing the field with friends and family.
12. Which player rides the most unusual style – and why?
We believe the standout rider in our group is Cirilo, as he is an excellent horse tamer with lots of experience.
13. Does the club have a mascot or internal ritual before games?
Our club represents a perfect mix of Argentine Gaucho spirit and German tradition. A space where families, friends, and polo lovers gather to share the sport – with traditional barbecues and events, creating unforgettable memories.
14. What makes Polo Club Landsberg different from other clubs?
That same combination: the freedom of the Gaucho spirit with the elegance of German polo tradition.
